What a sweet photo! I think, every once in a while, that I might like to have a kitty...and then I think about how crazy they can get, tearing up couches with their claws & stuff! Yikes!
Oh. And then there was Wilson, who ate a piece of the bathroom wall!!
Just stumbled into your blog! I love your photos, and you mention Coll. We had our last family holday on Coll before I left home. A beautiful place. A farmer there took me to a dance on the back of a tractor (the dance wasn't on the back of a tractor - I didn't put that very well...)
I'd forgotten we had two cats at the same time. The other cat was certainly the only thing the black cat (whose name as I recall was "The Black Cat") ever cuddled. An adopted stray who'd obviously been ill-treated he left his mark on many a hand that went to stroke him - and the nose of my Uncle's poodle!
Thanks all. I couldn't resist sharing it when I was looking through my scanned photos for something the other day.
Frances: Welcome. We lived in the township of Coll on the Isle of Lewis not on the Island of Coll. Oddly, as much of our mail used to end up on the Isle, I've never visited it.
CJ: These cats were in our house in Coll. I'd quite forgotten that we had cats that colour (at separate times as you'd thought) when we were young.

We may be apart but when I look at the sky and remember that we are standing on the same earth, looking at the same moon, somehow you don't seem so far away after all.
LIFE
Life isn't about dawdling to the grave, arriving safely in an attractive, wrinkle-free body but rather an adventure that ends skidding in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, totally worn out, screaming "Yee-ha. What a ride!!"
Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass… It’s about learning to dance in the rain. (With thanks to shabby girl ofA Travelling Fish)
But what are plans other than more restrictions? (With thanks to Pauline)
Feeling young is fabulous but growing old is a blessing!!! (A comment on this blog by Jaz who used to writeTreacy Travels.)
The trick to pushing 70, GB, is to push back -- hard!!! (A comment by Carol aka Canadian Chickadee who comments but does not blog)
Having lived the majority of my life in the Hebrides where my heart is, I feel I can now call myself a Hebridean. For nine years I lived half my life in New Zealand: a country I love. It was an honour being a part time Kiwi.
This is so sweet!
ReplyDeleteaww!

ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo, GB. I concur...Ahhhhhh! As someone once said, you can't watch a sleeping cat and remain tense.
