Across The Moor

Yesterday CJ and I went across the moors into the interior of Lewis. There are found the Airidhs or Sheilings (summer houses) about which I could write a few stories and a separate posting. I may do one day. In the meantime this windy road gives a little taste of Lewis. In the second photo the transmitters on the right hand horizon provide the television pictures to the Island.

  1. Spoilt for choice with your last posts, like the wide open spaces, not sure about the cruise liner. Nasty polluting things both enviromentally and from a social economic point of view. Glad tou are back.

  2. Beautiful shots, Sir... You look as if you are having some fine weather too, but how incongruous does that huge cruising vessel look on those shores? Love to you and CJ!

  3. Yes, Adrian, they are polluting things and they are definitely not for me. However lots of people from all walks of life do enjoy them and they are just one of many ways we seek to see the beauty we are managing to destroy whilst seeing it. 'Twas ever thus.
