In Villeneuve one day a Privet Hawk Moth paid us a visit.

    I was really admiring the softness and colors. Did you flip it over onto it's back for the belly shot? Cute :)

    NOW...I can't believe how large it is. Oh my goodness, and you're holding it in your hand?! Wowsers :)

    looks quite beautiful...did you know they identify one another (and their surroundings) by scent? Just think - mapping the world by smell - so very different to the visual human world we inhabit...

    Yes. It was less than happy when I flipped it over but it was pretty lethargic. It was a fairly worn specimen.
