My New Zealand Family Visits

Life’s been really full on for more than a week with my visit to Callander and Glasgow and with Wendy and the littlies since we arrived back on the Island last Sunday.  We’ve been fortunate in having wonderful sunny weather although the children are bemused by the fact that we are in the middle of summer, it’s light all through the night, it’s sunny but there is a cold wind (force 6 yesterday but a gentle force 4 today) and the temperature before the wind chill is only 12 deg!  To give you a flavour of life here at the moment here are pictures of just one of yesterday’s exploits down on the beach at Horgabost in South Harris:

  1. These are awesome. Did you edit this batch? They look SO much like they were hand done pieces of art. I like ♥

  4. Great to have you back in blogland (yes I know it's only been a few days, but it seems like a long time). Love the photos :-)

  5. Wow, those are some "action" photos! I'd probably have a heart attack or something watching it live ;) but the pictures are great. Glad you're having sunny days with your friends even if a bit chilly from their point of view.

  6. I can tell they are Kiwi Children - bare feet!

A different climate from Hawkes Bay, and such a very beautiful place. The UV index should be many times lower too!!

  8. No, Heather, this was just a straight sequence shoot.

Thank you Rae. Occasionally a subject presents itself!

Thanks Helen. I've been missing Blogland.

Lis, Monica: I would have been terrified for him before I realised just how competent Fraser is at judging his limitations.

Yes, Michelle, they may have been born Scots but now they are as Kiwi as they come.

I hope, Katherine, that you are right and that they never forget the Island. Somehow I don't think they will.

  10. The great bit about these pics is what's going on at the side. Catriona doesn't seem to bat an eyelid (can you bat other things in the same way...?) She just walks along tying her hair back " oh . it's Fraser flying off something at high speed and going upside down again...yawn !! " ( PS do you have pics of kids n Callanish? )
