Great Tit

On the way down from Ullapool to Callander I decided to go down the ‘back route’ from Dunkeld and avoid the main road.  I’m not sure how much longer it is time-wise but as time wasn’t a factor I just enjoyed the trip down through the Sma’ Glen.  At one point I stopped to look at a new bridge and was rewarded by a Great Tit hiding away in a tree.  It was a long way off and it was quite dull as well.  So in the circumstances I was quite pleased with the results.

  1. So would I have been. In comparison to my shots of our feathered friends this is world class.

  2. It's always exciting to find that you could capture these little wonders. He reminds me of the chickadee, but with brilliant yellow tones.

I wonder if he sounds similar to my little "wee-hoo" birds?

  4. For once one that I know! One of our most common birds here. Which does not mean I've got a lot of photos of it, though...

  5. A striking little bird, isn't he? I've never seen one like it. He looks all dressed up!

  7. A lovely little bird, indeed. And beautiful photos. He brings a smile on a dreary day.
