The Grape Harvest

Last year in the Lot-et-Garonne I tried to photograph the grape harvest but the grapes were pathetic specimens and certainly not photogenic.  I am always looking for the rich beauty of the grapes that I photographed in Tuscany some years ago.  This year at Viv's I had more success and the autumnal hues of the leaves were a bonus:

  1. Oh they are lovely. Such a delicious contrast of shapes, edges, colours and textures!

  2. Nailed these. It's good to see a rare sight. Rare for me!

  3. Can only agree with Katherine. Wonderful photo. Reminds me of my one and only trip to south Germany one September back in the 80s. I bought freshly harvested grapes in a market place in Trier.

  4. It must have been a bad year. Our figs were fantastic but the grapes were hopeless.

Where I am at the moment I notice that there are little white bags over each bunch of grapes whilst still on the vine. Haven't got to the bottom of thet yet, but I haven't seen it done before.

  5. What do they do to you if you pick a grape? I'm not sure I could walk past without trying one?
