Perhaps after last Friday I should have realised that there would be a word meaning 'fear of Friday the 13th'. However, not even being superstitious and as it had not even registered with me that it was Friday the 13th, it's not a phobia that I can claim to have. It was only when I read CJ's blog Words, Words, Words (and Phrases) that I even became aware there was such a word.

A superb word........bet that gave Spill Chucker the run around!
ReplyDeleteYes Spill Chucker had a hissy fit but then for Blogger it is set automatically to US 'English'. Although it used to correct spellchecker to Spill Chucker now it doesn't even recognise 'chucker'. Nor, of course, does it recognise 'recognise'.
ReplyDeleteOh and I should have added that my settings are for English (United Kingdom) but that obviously doesn't include the Spill Chucker.
ReplyDeleteSeeing this word on your link on my blog I thought "what?!" ... Never heard of it before. And never really felt a need for it. I wonder if I can remember it until next Friday 13th... No. I can't even remember it now! Frigg something phobia... ;) Good word. Blogger might have reason to add it to its vocabulary.
ReplyDeleteNo fears of Friday the 13th required for me - I was 13 on that day, and 30... don't remember another since, but no doubt more could appear.... meant to be my lucky day! hmmmm
