One For Adrian

Adrian's back!  So good to be able to say that.  I suspect there are few, if any in my Blogland who have been missed more than he has.  The coincidence is that I had prepared a post for Adrian for scheduling tomorrow.  So here is that post of one of Adrian's icons which CJ and I visited last Saturday.

The irony is that the building next door to George Fisher has to be the most out of place and ugly building in Keswick and possibly in the Lake District.  Adrian would not approve.

  1. Ta Graham. The best shop in the world. I just wish I were fit enough to exploit their merchandise.
I did spend a couple of hundred in there a year last Christmas. I will need a new pair of winter boots so I expect similar expenditure this winter.
The building............that's Lakeland planning for us!

    1. In my day (don't you just hate people who say that?) the Lake District Planning Board were very strict. I don't know when this was built but carbuncle doesn't even begin to describe it. Mind you my Mum used to say in the sixties that the Lake District wasn't what it was when she did her formative hiking there in the twenties. I suspect that when they met a car then the oldies tut tutted.

  2. Yay Adrian! Welcome back! What a beautiful building. On my bucket list to visit. Do they have bivouac tents or hammocks??

    1. They'll certainly have bivouac tents. They don't seem to do hammocks though.

    1. Yes it is Pauline. In the words of a UK TV advert I did it "because he's worth it!"
