Thankful Thursday

It's now several years since I started doing my Thankful Thursday posts.  They are a constant reminder to me of the need to remember just what a lucky and privileged existence I have.  Many of you whose Blogland I have been part of for a while will know where the inspiration came from.  Some of you will not know.

It came from an inspirational lady from New Zealand - Jaz, of Treacy Travels.  Jaz has a brain tumour and life has not been without its ups and downs for her, her husband Mark and their three lovely girls and all their friends and relations too.  Jaz is a teacher.  At the moment she's not actually teaching at a school but, as she said in her Thankful Thursday post today "You might be able to take the teacher out of the classroom but never vice versa."

I couldn't help but 'borrow' one of her photos from that post.  If you pop over to her post the picture will enlarge and the words will be easier to read.

So today I'm thankful that Jaz is still blogging and I'm thankful for such inspiration.

Thank you Jaz.

  1. Thankful Thursday is great...but being thankful every day is GREATER.
I just spent a good while over on Jaz's blog, what an inspiration.

  2. Yes Virginia being thankful every day is greater. I try to be. As the name of your blog is So Very Very Thankful I should have asked, but never have, why the blog is so named. Perhaps you could do a post on it?

    2. I have so much to be thankful for...things that we take for granted....food in my pantry, a roof over my head, health, not excessive wealth, but enough, the love of friends and family and the list goes on.
I will do a post on the choice of my blog name in the future....don't worry, I've got you covered....sure thing.

  3. Today I am just thankful to be alive. My poor husband has had two emergency room visits in two weeks. Once I had to take him, once I had to call 911 and the fire department aid car took him. The second time he collapsed, he barely had a pulse, and if not for the paramedics with their machines, oxygen, and knowledge, I probably wouldn't be writing this today. And Monday will be another stressful day, as he goes in for further tests. Keep us in your prayers, GB -- we need all the help we can get. xoxox

    1. I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's medical problems and I do so hope that all goes well for him (and therefore for you too) on Monday. You will definitely be in my thoughts.

    2. Thank you, GB. I really appreciate your good thoughts. The scary thing is that the medicine which is supposed to be keeping him alive and healthy seems to have turned on him, putting his entire system out of whack. Hopefully, they'll be able to get everything stabilized soon and we can get back to "normal!"

  4. You're doing a good job of it yourself, too (spreading the inspiration, I mean).
