A Peculiar Sort of Day

This morning as I drove home from town I had the correct words all planned out in my head so why, why, when I now have the opportunity to put pen to paper (so to speak) will only mundane prosaic words  flow from my mind to my hands?  Ah well.  Wotthehellarchiewotthehell.

Have you ever walked down a street and a person whom you are certain is a complete stranger comes towards you saying "You are GB aren't you?" or something like that.  Well that happened to me in town this morning.  The person - visiting from Canada - coming toward me recognised me from my and Scriptor's blogs.  Yes.  Really.  Life can be quite surprising sometimes.

As for the other happenings this morning.  Perhaps, although they were profoundly affecting, they will remain unsaid.  This evening, as the sun does nothing more than dip below the horizon of this Island home of mine before it will rise again in a few hours time without darkness falling, I feel emotions that I haven't felt for many years.  Moments like this make me realise what an incredibly small speck each one of us is in this universe.

It's a funny old world.

  1. Yes, it is...a funny old world, Graham. I would have been taken back to have someone recognize me from another part of the world - face to face, especially if I had no communication or idea of who they were and, yet, we do take that chance when we share our lives here, don't we?

I'm always in surprise when someone that I see every day comments on something that I've shared, when I never hear from them in that area...like blogging or even a comment I might make on Facebook. Sometimes, Graham....I even have forgotten about writing something and weeks later, a comment is made. Ha. That really takes me by surprise.

I feel the melancholy in your words, written poetically ♥

I hope you wake with a smile.

    1. Thanks Heather. I woke with a smile and then spent 45 minutes or more reading and watching Jenny Woolf's Morris Dancing post which made me smile even more.

  2. How unnerving, to have someone recognise you from the blog. Did you find out if it is one of your regular followers?

I wonder what the other things were. Although actually, whatever they were, I do recognise the feeling you describe.

    1. I was unaware that the person follows my blog although CJ knew and also knew she was coming to Lewis. She doesn't leave comments on my blog and does not blog herself. It was very interesting though. I am going away tomorrow but we've agreed to meed when I get back. It's a very small world.

My feelings yesterday evening were very emotional. It's funny how emotions can catch you unawares sometimes.
