A New Header

Thanks to Heather I have a new banner heading for the blog.  I’m really delighted.  My header has always been rather boring: an appropriate sort of header for me I thought.  Now that I’ve decided that I might be a tad less boring (if a tad more eccentric) I thought it was time for a change of blog image too.  All I have to do now is learn how to add more pictures.  I’m sure it’ll be within my competence.  Hmm.  We’ll see.  Anyway I hope that you like it too.  Thanks Heather.

There’s A Lot Of Editing To Be Done

Having arrived back at Eagleton Notes I have realised that a while ago I had a brief attempt at making the header more exciting.  It was an experiment and, whilst I like the idea, I don’t particularly like the execution.  The side panels are rather deficient too.  There’s a bit of work to be done.  Now if I were like Heather instead of saying it I’d have done it in the same amount of time.  Me?  I’ll do it.  Eventually.

Being Adventurous

I know. How sad am I that I think that altering my blog is being adventurous? Well I've decided that it's about time I made the format of the blog a little more interesting and flexible. I have certain parameters and constraints. The most important of which is that my blog is read by people for whom Broadband is not an option. Indeed when I am in New Zealand although I have Broadband it is over the mobile Vodafone network and therefore both slow and expensive. However I shall experiment. I have to leave the computer now so what you will see today is just a trial and, hopefully, when I get myself organised it will improve.

If you have any difficulties with the new layout or any layout in the future please, please do let me know.

Blog Layout Under Revision

It has amazed me how, in the two months and eleven days since I left Scotland, the format of my blog in New Zealand has altered and how many additions there have been to the gadgets in the side column.  As I have decided to continue using Eagleton Notes for some postings which are not really within the scope of my Hebridean in New Zealand I have decided also to update this Blog and I shall be doing that over the next few weeks.  So things might look a bit odd or duplicated or go missing.  Hopefully all will be well when the revision is finished.  If any reader has suggestions which they feel would make things easier please send me a comment or email.

One of the things which I have done is remove comment moderation.  If, by any chance, I start getting inappropriate comments (which I have so far avoided) I may have to re-consider but I have noticed that many websites I visit don't moderate them.  They can, of course, always be removed by me later if I don't feel that they are appropriate.
