Walking along the main road in Callander recently, one of the group suddenly asked if we could spot what was wrong with this sign. I have to admit that I didn't get it instantly.

NOTES FROM THE ISLE OF LEWIS IN SCOTLAND'S OUTER HEBRIDES AND ANYWHERE ELSE I HAPPEN TO FIND MYSELF
Callander must be a swinging town.
ReplyDeleteIt took me 1.5 seconds, Potty! Very droll.
DeleteThe lamp is on the wrong side of the post. I wonder how that happened.
ReplyDeleteWell spotted, Adrian.
DeleteNeat sign
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to a sign that creates smiles.
Rather unintentionally, I suspect, Maywyn.
DeleteOur one way signs are always in one, not arrow and words on two separate signs. Therefore, no such fun is possible with serious German signs. (But other fun is, of course.)
ReplyDeleteMeike, look at the light.
DeleteThat's funny our road signs are on the left hand side.
ReplyDeleteAmy, it is the light, not the sign, that is the wrong way round.
DeleteI've seen worse.
ReplyDeleteI suppose so, Cro, but the light is a little pointless lighting the back of the sign.
DeleteI've been catching up on your peat posts, it sounds like an awful l ot of work but then being cold is not pleasant either!
ReplyDeletei hope there is some very witty graffiti on the back of the sign!
It was an awful lot of work, Kylie. However back in the day it was that or nothing to cook on and nothing to heat the house. Wel if there is graffiti on the back of the sign it would be well lit.
DeleteHa, ha! Yes, there was a similar sign near us and I would always say, "Let's go that way, to heaven!"
ReplyDeleteAlas, they have fixed it now and Richard can't hear me say that anymore. I bet he is glad, you know I said it EVERY SINGLE TIME. LOL.
I never thought of that, Kay.
DeleteI have to admit that I didn't get it instantly... until I saw the light!
ReplyDeleteWell done, YP. I think you have joined the Great Minority.
DeleteAh. I was concentrating in the sign, not the light. Silly me.
ReplyDeleteIt's why witnesses are so unreliable, Frances.
DeleteI wonder how many ended up at the top of the steeple!
ReplyDeleteThat's a thought, Lee.
