  1. Oh my goodness, what a cutie! I have to tell you, I have a thing for faces, does he have your cheekbones? Lucky lad!

    1. Kay, I have no idea whether he has my cheekbones because I'm not really very good at seeing likenesses. The general view is that he looks like his Dad. The general view is that his Dad looks like me. On that basis he may well have my cheekbones.

    1. I'm sure that Brodie would say that it was good to meet you too, Jill. He's a very gregarious chap.

  3. This is one of those rare occasions when I can say. "What a handsome chap." Without any risk of being struck down.

  6. What a bright and lively little face! Is that a special bangle he is wearing?

    1. If I'm not mistaken, the bracelet would be amber. People swear by it for teething pain and many little ones have an amber necklace, specially knotted for prevention of breakage and choking etc

    2. Thanks Jenny. I would have to ask Brodie's Mum but, from memory, I would say that Kylie is correct. He has just got his first two teeth this week.

    1. What a sweetheart, I immediately thought the same as Helen, he looks just like Gaz. I didn’t meet his mum so can’t tell which of her features he shares but he is adorable and very photogenic. Thanks for sharing this pic with us.

    2. Jennyta I am very proud although my tiny part was long ago and far away! It's a pleasure Beverley. I'm glad you can see the likeness with Gaz. I'd have to ask others whether they can see a likeness to any of his Mum's features because I'm not very good at such comparisons.

    1. Kylie, I can't remember when our children started on solid food but if there is one thing I have learned from having a grandchild it is that I've forgotten everything I knew about having children of that age.

    2. You are probably much much better at knowing what a baby needs than most first time parents. Some of those things just go into your brain without you realising and never leave

  10. He has a well balanced face; usually a good sign. A handsome lad. I send my best wishes.

  11. I often feel a little awkward around babies, especially if the proud parents expect me to confirm that indeed theirs is the prettiest and brightest child in the world when in truth I think it is somewhat ugly... but in Brodie's case, I can honestly say he looks a lovely little lad!

PS: Yesterday I happened to come across a documentary about the Hebrides, Graham. I thought of you when they were showing Stornoway and many other places on Lewis and Harris, including the barn of a man who is one of the many Harris tweed weavers.

    1. Thank you Meike for what is, of course, a very accurate assessment of the wee man. (But then I would say that, wouldn't I?). There have been quite a lot of documentaries on The Hebrides over recent years. They have always been the subject of curious fascination and even early travel books. However the ease of access now has broght more people and a greater awareness and more television exposure.

  12. What a little charmer :) And seems he takes after his grandfather already, showing an interest in good food, good company and communicating with the world :)

    1. Monica her is certainly very gregarious and loves company and food. He's already making noises which can be interpreted (if one is willing to indulge in flights of fancy) as indications of happiness.

  16. The moment I saw his picture, the words to an old song came to mind... "You must have been a beautiful baby" - he certainly is a lovely wee laddie! Do they make kilts that small, though? 8-)

    1. Mrs S, I don't think kilts come quite that small but I'm sure he'll eventually cut a fine figure in one.
