It was another 5am start this morning. Then the ferry from Stornoway to Ullapool with the inevitable bacon roll to sustain me on the journey. A journey shared with Anna who had been staying with me in Lewis for a long weekend and with whom I am staying tonight before a week of visiting and sight-seeing in central Scotland.
A propro nothing at all to do with the previous paragraph a few days ago I received a parcel.. Inside was the delivery note. Curiously I found it hard to understand.
curious and confusing!
ReplyDeletesafe traveling, Graham!
Thanks Norma.
DeleteBut that's obvious - the company thank their employee who has put together the parcel for putting his or her trust in them. Employers are not always trustworthy, are they, and that company recognize this fact and make sure their staff feel as appreciated as they should :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm obviously being a bit thick here Meike. I still can't quite understand why they should thank me for the order with a not which says it shouldn't be sent to me.
DeleteThe note was for the employer and put into your parcel by accident.
DeleteHave fun on your trip GB....sightseeing means lots of photos for us to enjoy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the delivery note you received, I haven't the foggiest idea....maybe you will find a package waiting for you when you get back....it's left to be seen.
Thanks Virginia. Yesterday we had a really lovely trip and made a number of stops but the weather was very dull and I didn't take a single photo. That's almost a record. Hopefully today will be different.
DeleteBy any chance were there two copies of the note? I'm thinking they could well print two, one for inclusion in the parcel and one for their records of what was actually processed. Maybe someone just put the wrong one in the parcel. I had an order from photobox last week, I'll have to see if it is the same, when I can find the delivery note.
ReplyDeleteMy delivery note doesn't have this on it, so I'm guessing the two copies is the right answer -- I guess it's the modern day equivalent of the carbon paper copy
DeleteMark's explanation seems plausible. Before I read his comment I was wondering if the company you ordered from was only a middle hand in the transaction; but if it was that kind of mistake the note would have the wrong names etc on it. - I wish you good photo weather for your sightseeing! ;)
ReplyDeleteHow exceedingly strange! I think Mark is right. I shall also look at my next Photobox packet with interest - one is due since I uploaded some pictures last night.
