A Day From My Window

Yesterday I woke to a splendid, if not that unusual, sunrise looking from my house to the Scottish Mainland West Coast.

Within a couple of hours the sky had clouded over and the Mainland had disappeared in a sky of heavy rain.

By lunchtime the Mainland was still under cloud but we were bathed in sun. I managed a few hours in the garden in the afternoon.

By the early evening it was still and the Moon was reflected in a calm sea and Jupiter was visible to its right (as we look at it).

  1. With apologies to those of you who have already been subjected to this in a different place.

  2. What a gorgeous sunrise shot.
Our day was broadly similar but without the heavy rain (for a change). We had a wonderful view of the moon and Jupiter too last night in a virtually cloudless sky.
    Isn't it a wonderful World?

    1. Maywyn, nature gives us so much and it's a shame we don't always appreciate it and look after it.

  5. How beautiful - reminds me a little of a west Cumbrian day - constantly changing.

"A different place" - have you started another blog?

    1. Jayne, I don't have enough time (ie I don't allocate enough time) for my existing blog so I certainly haven't started another one. I very occasionally use Facebook though and that's where I posted this sequence.

  6. What an amazing sunrise! I have never seen anything like it. The fact that they are not unusual in your corner of the world amazes me even more. The moon picture is perfect.

  9. Gorgeous views no matter the time of day. Of course the sunrise appeals to me most, as I do have a thing for sunrises and sunsets. Did you take advantage of the gardening hours to make your garden ready for winter?

    1. Meike, I take the opportunity whenever I can steal an hour here and there to make the garden ready for winter. I rarely succeed in doing all that I want to do though.

    1. Lee, on the rare occasion that I wake up and can't get back to sleep I usually get up. That then can put everything out for days!
