For the Love of Bees

It's official. I am a member of the International Bee Appreciation Society.

Those of you who have followed my New Zealand blog will be no stranger to Kate Steeds although you may not have seen her posts on The Cottleston Gallery at which the AGM of the Society was held - or was it?  Among many others my 'portrait' appeared:

  1. I love that portrait of you! I am glad you put this on here as your blog photo. If you hadn't done so, I would have suggested it!

  2. Great picture of you Graham. I am not overly impressed that you are a member of The International Bee Appreciation Society as I am a member of The Yorkshire Woodlouse Appreciation Society.

    1. Ah, YP, I didn't realise there was a Yorkshire Branch. I'm a paid up member of the Scottish Slater Society. Now that English Independence looks to off the cards for while longer we must link up and make the world appreciate the last of the true terrestrial crustations.

  5. I live in a serious Chestnut growing area. The trees are now all in flower, and the Bees have been brought in. The aroma of the Chestnut flower is amazing, and the sound of Bees is deafening. I love it.

    1. I would love it too Cro. Despite living in the wilds I see many many bumble bees in the garden. We have a wide variety here.

    1. Frances it's a long story but, basically, it was by invitation. It all started a long time ago as a result of blogging. The same way that so many things in my life in the last 10 years have started.

  8. This is an excellent portrait. Superb.
May I suggest that you buy the artist some new paper. I know artists paint over their work to save money but this is the first time I've seen one paint round it. I bet the cherry picture was very nice too.
