I woke up this morning to see various comments in my mail about a post entitled 'Calmac Survic'. Yesterday I decided to do a post on the subject of Calmac's survival but, as I already had a post scheduled for this morning, I decided to do it today instead. However the heading (and possibly some post text) apparently did not stay in my draft and found their way onto the blog and onto Facebook. Very puzzled I checked the Dashboard and discovered that the post is, indeed still a draft.
What is really strange, however, is that I can't see the post on my blog either in draft or any other form and it's not on my Facebook page either.
It shows on the Dashboard as a draft post but when I try and open it there is no text at all.
So I shall try and do a post today and let you know what I did want to say.
I rather liked the minimalist post.
ReplyDeleteBlogger is improving it's service. They have employed fifty twelve year olds on work experience, a heifer and a parakeet.
All will be fine after they have had the consultants in.
What is interesting Adrian is that presumably 92 people who viewed the 'post' know what I said (or didn't say) and I do not!
DeleteI do love your sense of humour Adrian!
DeleteNone of my new postings turn-up 'at once' on my dashboard; I have to wait for at least 4 or 5 hours. I think Mr Blogger is ill (or maybe having a knee replacement).
ReplyDeleteCro my posts appear immediately on my dashboard as a general rule but at the moment the rules seem to have disappeared.
DeleteThe technical problem has absolutely nothing to do with me. Honest! I wouldn't know to hack even if I wanted to. It is frustrating when these things go awry but you will be pleased to learn that I have not been experiencing any difficulties at all with Blogger. It is working as smoothly as a pole dancer at a church garden party.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting analogy YP.
DeleteI'm confused so I'm of no use...what's new? ;)
ReplyDeleteLee I suspect that with some of the dramas you've dealt with in life this irritation is so insignificant it's not even worth being confused over.
DeleteI did have the chance to read the missing post when it appeared...it was late at night for me here.
ReplyDeleteHope it shows up again from whence it's hiding in cyber space.
Gosh where did "whence" come from...I meant "where."
DeleteLost and gone for ever I suspect Virginia but, no matter, it was only a few opening sentences anyway.
DeleteThe good news is you have the techno wherewithall to fix it! Now you've finished sorting out my Blogger issue.
ReplyDeletePauline it was good to feel even a little bit useful but I suspect this is just another irritating Blogger Blip.
DeleteBlogger is usally not acting up on me, and most of the time, new posts appear in my dashboard within moments of pressing the "publish" button.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed that it stays that way!
I hope so too Meike.
DeleteHow might I find you on FB, Mr. Edwards?
ReplyDeleteUnder my full name of Graham Barry Edwards, Mrs Thyme. If there are a lot of us I'm the one wearing the kilt.
DeleteAnd a dashing figure you are, too! In that kilt.
DeleteAnd a dashing figure you are, too! In that kilt.
DeleteGracious! This is not one of the many glitches I've come across with Blogger. Perhaps I have that joy to come.
ReplyDeleteYour post was entiteld "Blogger: What are you up to?" which I thought was addressed to bloggers, and asking them what they were doing. I was about to tell you that that I haven't been blogging, but you must have noticed this. Anyway, posting is not on my "to do" list which means it's not long now....
Oh, dear, the comment box just flew away when I tried to write a follow up. I was thinking that perhaps you accidentally posted your draft, went back to it, did some more and then clicked Delete (well, perhaps it was late at night). But if you HAD done this, it would have appeared and then disappeared from readers' feeds. And, although I don't link with FB, it might be that it will quickly grab anything you post and put it onto your FB page.
ReplyDeleteWell, I daresay others have or will suggest this admittedly slightly unlikely sounding scenario! and will look forward to your next post. .
Your supposition could be correct Jenny but the strange thing is that my Dashboard never showed that it had been posted. It still shows it as a draft but with no text, 5 comments and 98 views! C'est la vie.
DeleteOk that most definitely is a but confusing. I am stumped. Blogger is often doing things that defy logic...how in the world are people viewing an unpublished post. Perhaps it is viewable on another platform (Bloglovin) or something??
ReplyDeleteI've no idea either Keith but I'm not on Bloglovin.
Deletei love blogger and satisfied with its progress
ReplyDeleteI'm very pleased for you Baili.
