ICE Challenge

Gareth, happily ensconce on his honeymoon with Carol in the heat of the hills of Mallorca and having very stylishly had the champagne ice-bucket tipped over hime, even-handedly nominated me and his new Father-in-Law for the ICE challenge.  As every second post on Facebook seems to be an ICE challenge at the moment and given that it's raised over $50 million so far I think I'd have felt a bit left out if no one had nominated me.  Anyway this afternoon with the help of a friend, Carol, to pour the water and James from New Zealand taking the video the operation went ahead. Fortunately at least the midges thought the water was too cold as well.  Many of those who view this blog are not friends on Facebook so you can have a laugh at my soaking here if you wish.

  1. I came, I saw, I smiled and shivered on your behalf!

  2. Not knowing what the ICE challenge is all about, I think I'd have chickened out if someone had nominated me. Cold is the one thing I really can not deal with, I'm afraid, and I fully admit to being a total whimp in that respect.

    1. As a rule, Meike, I don't do cold either but I wasn't going to duck the challenge. There really was ice in the bucket too!

  3. Oh, well done, Graham! Though I find it hard to believe you're on FB?

    1. Ps I'd suggest you nominate Adrian as a candidate, but would he ever get dry again in his van?

    2. Frances, you seem to think I lack creature comforts. I have even got a plug in Airwicky to counteract the smell of wet dog and wet Adrian. Really posh it is. Not sure it doesn't smell worse than wet dog though.

    3. Frances being on Facebook is a really good way of keeping up with people both across the world and across the Island. I thought of nominating Adrian but then decided that he's think I was being vindictive for one of his recent comments. I would have been and that's not my nature so he escaped.

  4. The ICE bucket challenge for ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease has been spreading like wild fire all over the world....even here on the island.
It's all for a good cause and you actually look like you enjoyed it....good sport.

  6. Graham, Have you gone completely barking mad? I love Scotland but don't need a bucket and assistant to get soaked in icy water on a regular basis.

    1. Adrian I thought you knew me well enough to know that I'm at least almost completely barking mad.
