I'm on holiday. I left the Island yesterday for a week in Bishopbriggs (a 'suburb' of Glasgow although its residents would never agree to that description and it is outside the City boundary so a taxi home from Glasgow a few yards over the boundary attracts a bonus fare!). I can't recall when I was last off the Island for a holiday. I am usually off for a hospital appointment even if I have also enjoyed some time with friends down here.
I apologise to some of my readers who have left comments which have gone to spam and which I haven't picked up in good time (I was going to say 'timeously' but the spillchucker was having none of it).
I also had the problem that some of the 'spam' comments appear to have disappeared so if you've commented and it's not been published then I apologise.
I'm hoping that I'll actually get a bit more time in Blogland whilst I'm away
Blogger sometimes gets wonky. You have to wait until it sorts itself out. Enjoy your holiday.
ReplyDeleteThanks Red. I'm a bit impatient at times when it comes to Blogger.
Delete*whew!* I was afraid I was the irritating blogger. Enjoy your trip!
ReplyDeleteThanks Debby. You don't strike me as being an irritating person by the way.
DeleteHappy Holiday! Have a good time. Relax, eat well and share fun stories with us. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Maywyn. I'll behaving fun but finding some fun stories might be harder!
DeleteIt's become so common that I now find myself looking at the spam folder every morning. I have even found some of yours in there!
ReplyDeleteCro, I've just cleared my spam and am going to check each day too in future.
DeleteBlogger needs some care and attention. Perhaps their IT team are all on holiday.
ReplyDeleteJayCee, I get the impression that the problems start when the IT Team are tinkering!
DeleteHave a good holiday! For me, holidays mean I spent less time blogging, not more :-)
ReplyDeleteMeike, You are a much more organised and diligent blogger than I am.
DeleteFunnily enough, I have not seen Bishopbriggs in any holiday brochures - alongside the likes of The Costa del Sol, Cyprus, The French Riviera and Florida.
ReplyDeleteYP, I don't go where the masses go.
DeleteHope you have a wonderful holiday!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellen
DeleteHave a good do, Glasgow is one of my favourite cities.
ReplyDeleteAdrian, like Liverpool it's a friendly city where you will always meet someone you know from every corner of the globe.
DeleteWish you a nice hospital-free holiday! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Monica.
DeleteEnjoy your break! X
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jules.
DeleteThis irritating comment has now disappeared.
ReplyDeleteTasker, that's obviously why I can't see it.
DeleteAnd there I was about to apologise for NOT commenting :-) Was going to say sorry for missing the last few of your posts - been doing some 'getting ready for autumn/winter' and not at the computer.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a thoroughly enjoyable break and don't worry about Spam, or any other dubious foodstuffs.
Jayne, your comment about Spam made me wonder when I last had some. Beyond long ago although I remember that it has a blue tin (probably because I see it subconsciously on supermarket shelves). However I do have a strange fondness for corned beef.
DeleteIt is always good to have a proper holiday - enjoy yourself :)
ReplyDeleteThank you, Margaret. So far so good!
DeleteHope you enjoy your holiday, I've had the same issue with comments on blogger, even though the ones I've never marked as spam personally seem to show up as spam so I have to check my comments daily.
ReplyDeleteAmy, I'm doing the same now.
DeleteSplended days in Achadh an Easbaig (how to pronounce?) ;-)
ReplyDeleteInteresting question, Sean. I suspect a it depends on whether it's Scots or Irish Gaelic you want to be heard in. I think the spelling is the same in both though.
DeleteI am a bit late in catching up on blog reading as it is more a weekly vs. daily process for me. That said, Graham, I hope you had a wonderful vacation. Our recent road trip was a peopling one vs. a sightseeing excursion. Blogger has always been problematic and recently bloggers were unable to upload images to a post. Thankfully, that situation seems to have gone away now...until the next glitch.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your thoughts, Beatrice.
