Find myself doing that quite often now to bring out the colours in pictures taken in bright daylight. But it really depends on what effect you want, Pauline has got a point about the "soft, mystical quality" too. (I still think it's a gorgeous photo in both versions.)DawnTreaderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13956409908791716009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784891745623390957.post-50222065646849499442010-08-06T11:52:22.197+01:002010-08-06T11:52:22.197+01:00Great shot. Amazing how almost tropical it looks on the odd occasion the sun actually shines.

Does look better sharpened up a bit. Adrian's right about definitive images. It will only be what we individually think brings out the best in an image.

This is a great shot because it makes me a little bit home sick and you can't ask for much more than that.Synflamehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13698351187221918659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784891745623390957.post-28255686884819744232010-08-06T07:35:18.827+01:002010-08-06T07:35:18.827+01:00Ahh, yes, I can see the difference. Adrian does give such great advise but I can never completely understand it. Obviously you can!

It is a glorious photo both before and after!Paulinehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15276284964859313257noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6784891745623390957.post-12409797406314099922010-08-06T02:40:26.570+01:002010-08-06T02:40:26.570+01:00That's better, No good giving pictures to me o...That's better, No good giving pictures to me or Gaz....You would end up with two definitive versions, three with yours.
Best to sharpen after you have compressed for the web, make sure image is at 100% or more, push till halos appear then back off 10% or 20%.
