  2. All I can say is WOW....make that a double....WOW WOW.
I wonder if the father/son were rewarded with any fish. Such beautiful conditions may have caused the fish to be lying around, and not at all in a mood to eat any bait.

    1. It was perfect fishing weather Virginia so I imagine they would have been very unlucky not to catch something for the pot. That's only an excuse for going out in the boat these days of course. Years ago it was a necessity.

  4. These are as good as photographs get. The seascapes are as good as I've seen. Is this the 7D or have you given the bridge camera a good talking to?

    1. Wow. Thanks Adrian. It's the Sony HX100V. I think it must know that I'm looking at alternatives at the moment and upped its game. I'd love to spend more time with the 7D whilst I have the opportunity but the reality is that whilst I'm living in two countries and travelling I'll use a bridge camera. It's so much lighter and more versatile.

    2. The alternative is the Sony NX-1 I think. Their full frame compact with a fixed 35mm lens. Or A S/H Leica M8 rangefinder.

    3. They still don't have the versatility of the bridge camera.

  5. And that was all in one day? There is certainly enough in those pictures to keep one in awe for a long time.

    1. It was a full semicircle double rainbow, Helen, but was too close even to get it all in with several photos stitched together.

    1. Yes, Fiona, it never ceases to amaze me even after 4 decades of watching the changing scenes of the Hebrides.
