An Apology and More Mornings

This morning I was up at 0630 with the intention of trying to catch up with the blogs of my friends here in Blogland.  Fifty minutes later I have taken 40 photos, caught up with CJ/Sciptor Senex (and a fascinating post on poetry), made two cups of hot water with lemon (and consumed one), sorted some emails which I'd read on my phone and needed copying to my Apple Mail folder on the laptop (same problem as yours CJ), read other emails, watched a parade of ants and generally managed to consume 50 minutes of my life.  That 50 minutes has not passed as quickly, though, as the last week.  By the end of today we will have been here at The Villa for a whole week.  It seems like no more than a few days.  Never has a more appropriate epithet been used than fugit for tempus.

So why an apology?  Well really it's an apology and an explanation.  I have been dipping in and out of my friends' blogs and leaving the occasional comment.  I have dipped in and out sometimes and not left comments where I usually would do so.  Unlike CJ my Blogworld is still quite small so, although I may not manage all your blogs until I get home, I will eventually catch up.

Are we not quite arrogant creatures?  It just occurred to me that I am assuming you might even care that I do read your posts.  Perhaps that's because it matters to me that my blog friends visit me.  Ho hum.  Back to my ramblings and hot water and lemon.

The first three paragraphs were written 24 hours ago.  I started looking for an interesting photo or three to add to the post.  But since then a sort of communal life has taken over and by the time dinner was finished and so on I was flakers.  There is nothing like a holiday for tiring one so much.

Today is the San Marino Grand Prix.  Hamilton and Button are in the first and second places on the grid for the start.  I really do not want to miss that.  I think the others want to go on a wine tour.  That doesn't matter except that I'm a driver and if 5 want to go the other car only holds 4.   Ah well the day will unfurl.  As a driver I wouldn't be wine tasting anyway.

I know that you will soon be getting fed up of the morning views from my bedroom but it is so beautiful I need to keep a record:

Here's Friday's

Saturday's

And this morning's

  1. Hot water and lemon is the perfect way to start the day...cleanses the system, and wakes up your stomach to receive the day's rations.
The view from your room is gorgeous, and quite easy to be wrapped up in its beauty. Though there are many photos of this scene, there are not the same (subtle changes like the different positions of the loungers for instance).
Enjoy the wine tour (there are nice non-alcoholic ones you can try) even though you are the designated driver.
Also enjoy the SM Grand Prix on tv or online.
I hope my holiday does not go by as fast as yours....I have another three sleeps to go and then I'm off.

    1. Jeffrey and I stayed and did the household chores (all we put the washing out to dry) and watched the GP. It was almost worth it. It's very hot today though so I think a rest day was a good idea even though I love the heat. It also means no one has to do the cooking after a long day: I've done it in a pleasant relaxed fashion. I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

  2. Your assumption is right - we DO care (I guess I am speaking not only for myself here) about you reading or not reading our blogs, about you leaving or not leaving comments.
But we all know you're on holiday so nobody is holding that against you :-)
And again, I suppose I am not the only one NOT tiring of those fantastic views from your bedroom window!

By the way, I'll be off - and offline - on Monday for a whole eight days. Yet another holiday for me, my fourth this year!!

    1. Thanks Meike. I hope that you have a great time. I must catch up with your blog and find out where you are off to.

  3. I notice that someone must be making use of those loungers on the terrace in between your photos... Have you tried them yourself yet?? After all you are on holiday, you know. You are allowed to take five minutes now and then to do absolutely nothing at all... (Yes we care, and it does make a difference; but one of the advantages of blogging is that we can catch up with one another when we each have the time for it...)

    1. I guess that the youngsters had a relaxing sunbathe before we oldies got back from Radicondoli. They started out earlier and got back earlier.

    2. Oops. Pressed 'Publish' before I'd finished. Thanks, Monica, for reminding me that I'm on holiday. I tend to regard my life as one long holiday (or no holiday at all depending on which watt one looks at it) so forget that there are 'real' holidays.

  4. Apology accepted ;-D

I am beginning to fall in love with that view from the terrace...
