Beehives at Catterline

When I was staying in Glasgow, Anna and I went to The Lillie Art Gallery in Milngavie one morning.  It’s a small gallery and it had an exhibition which included works by Joan Eardley.  Anna loves her work though most of the works actually in the exhibition were not really to my taste.  That was a shame because I very much like some of her works which were not on display.  However I absolutely fell in love with one and have since acquired a print (from Eardley Editions).  It’s entitled Beehives at  Catterline:

  2. Eardley is fantastic. (And if you like her you could try my cousin's work...Eardley was a formative influence...

  4. When I was over at lunch, I forgot to say how much I liked the new picture by the fireplace. Sits well there.

I was so caught up with looking at your new carpet shampoo cleaner - what a sad pair we are!!

  6. Thanks Spesh. I rather like it too.

No way, Yvonne, 'my' art is never likely to be that modern. Spesh's interest was generated by the fact that she decided upon pale cream carpets but has a retriever who is allowed free run of the garden and the Island and then the house (and a cat who's not much better).

  7. Mmmm...I am even more convinced that there's an Emin-esque contribution to the world of art in this...could be entitled 'The carpet shampoo cleaner was on my side'...?
